The fourth room of the Museum of Natural History and Territory of Città della Pieve houses two collections donated by Pieve citizens who are passionate about nature and have now disappeared.
The Alvaro Marchesini collection consists of fossils of marine invertebrates dating back to the Upper Pliocene and Lower Pleistocene and bone portions and teeth of terrestrial mammals dating back to the Villafranchian.
The Manlio Vivani- Graziella Faraoni collection includes around 500 minerals from both Italy and around the world.
Desert sands and rocks donated by Giovanna Pignatelli and a composite mineral donated by Odir Dias.
It includes precious, semi-precious stones and fossils of interest in goldsmithing. There are, among others, diamonds, topaz, emeralds, ammonites and amber.
From this room you can access the “Franco Travaglini” Natural Sciences Library - INTRA - Libri Salvati which preserves the volumes donated to the Museum by Travaglini himself, by “INTRA” and by other donors.
